Chili Cook-off & Music Festival

Check out the 2008 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

This three day event combines live music all weekend with Larry Joe Taylor & Friends, then a CASI sanctioned chili cook-off in the park on Saturday 8/16.  Music venues all over town like the top of the mountain, along the Red River, Brandenburg Park, and the historic Motherlode Saloon.  The chili cook-off consits of four categories: CASI Red, Green Chile, Salsa, and Open.  CASI winners will be determined by a panel of judges.  All other categories will be judged by "Peoples Choice" ballots at the event.  For more information on becoming a chili cook or a CASI member, contact John Montgomery at coloradochili@aol.com.  For the 2008 cook-off registration form, click here. Please send your registration in advance to the Colorado Chili Pod address listed at the bottom of the registration form.  If it is too close to the event and you're worried that it might not get there in time, you can register at the Cook's Party.

If you are a chili cook that uses propane, please read the New Mexico rules and regulations here.  There will be a propane inspector on site Saturday morning to monitor propane use.

Super-Saver 3-Day wristbands are $42 and get you into all music events and the chili cook-off, plus a commemorative event mug (there is an additional $5 fee to ride the chair lift up to the Mountain Top concert).  Individual music events cost between $7-$12 each, and the chili cook-off entry is $12.  Credit cards will be accepted until 4:00 pm Thursday afternoon, August 14.  After that, all events are cash only.  You can purchase your wristbands in advance by calling 877-885-3885.

Vendors are welcome at the chili cook-off Saturday.  Vendor space is $75 for a 10' x 10' booth.  You must be selling chili or a chili-related product.  If you have questions on if your product is eligible or if you'd like to become a vendor, contact Holly at (877) 885-3885 or info@redriver.org.
